The BALKANOMICS is a pioneering regional conference, organized in strategic partnership with USAID, EU, Titan Albania and a network of private sector companies dedicated to bolstering economic competitiveness in the Western Balkans, with a spotlight on EU accession, economic growth and regional development. Entrepreneurs, development professionals, and policymakers will convene to explore themes such as access to finance, economic growth, ESG policies, technological innovations, and investment strategies.
The Balkanomics Conference 2024, to be held in Tirana on 16 September, will focus on sustainable practices and the transformative impact of large-scale environmental projects. The event will explore the integration of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles in modern architecture, highlighting how sustainable and socially responsible designs can influence the urban landscapes of tomorrow. In addition, the conference will showcase significant decarbonization efforts from Albania and neighboring countries, demonstrating the success and best practices of ambitious climate initiatives. By highlighting these examples, Balkanomics aims to inspire similar endeavors across the Western Balkans, fostering a regional commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility.
The conference will mark a historic milestone with the launch of the first ESG network in Albania – a groundbreaking initiative including some of the 10 largest companies in Albania. This network, the first of its kind in the Western Balkans, aims to foster collaboration among businesses, policymakers, and civil society to advance ESG practices across the country.
