As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Action Plan for 2023, ANTEA Cement proudly announces the successful completion of the ‘Ophthalmologist visits and check-up for the children of the community schools of Shpërdhet and Fushë Mamurras.’ This project was meticulously designed and implemented in collaboration with the esteemed Dora e Pajtimit Organization, with the unwavering support of ANTEA Cement.
The primary purpose of this project was to undertake social responsibility actions to improve the health and education conditions of children in rural and underdeveloped areas. We aimed to achieve this by providing specialized sessions for the diagnosis of vision problems and raising awareness about the prevention and treatment of such issues.
Key components of the project involved assisting school children in the two rural areas to detect possible refractive errors and vision problems through advanced technological techniques. These sessions were conducted on-site, with a team of specialists consisting of doctors, social workers, and administrative staff. Working in close cooperation with the school directors, teaching staff, and parents from the communities, we strived to provide the best possible care for the children.
During 2023, around 500 children completed the series of diagnosis and more than 60 have been selected for a re-check. Additionally, for those who exhibited vision problems during the initial vision check-up, ANTEA Cement and the Dora e Pajtimit Organization organized in-depth examinations at a professional clinic in the capital city, Tirana.
