Two years without Lost Time Injury (LTI) for direct employees

Thursday 16 February 2023 marked a milestone of two years of Lost Time Injury (LTI) free for Antea Cement Sh.a. It goes beyond saying that this is a huge achievement and reflects the significant effort that all our employees make in ensuring we all stay safe.

The collaboration between our teams and our partners has been instrumental in the success of this milestone and highlights the need to work together to achieve safe operations. As the cornerstone of our operations to ensure all our employees go home safely, we are immensely proud of everyone’s efforts to achieve this. These achievements demonstrate the dedication of the teams and how safety can be!

Taking proactive steps to prevent LTIs, such as providing proper training and equipment, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a safety culture, Antea Cement can greatly reduce the risk of workplace injuries. Safety by numbers:
– 524 improvement proposals by employees.
– 40 Near Misses were recorded during these two years.
– 119 corrective actions from Near Misses taken.
– 1612 unsafe activities were observed and remedied during these two years.
– 4105 training hours performed to our direct employees.

Reaching the two-year mark without an LTI is a testament to the commitment and dedication of everyone involved in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. It’s a cause for celebration, and a time to reflect on the progress made, while also renewing our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees.
